Default Whats the XBidniss? (TC SWAP?!)

i had went to walmart yesterday, and parked across from a doped up cam green xb. when i got out i went to check it out. when i looked at the grill it had 2.4 in the corner of it, like we do with the vvt-i and tc emblums. i thought to myself that this thing was a lil to well done to "rice it" like that. so u know i had to wait for him or her to come out. it took about 25 minutes for the guy to come out. i cought up to him to do a lil scion chatting. so i asked him what the 2.4 meant. he smiled and said, "u want to know what it means, i'll show u what it means guy", lol. popped the hood and there it was i said, "how in the hec did u do that already and where? i knew it was goin to happen, but i didnt think i was goin to see it outside of a show". he said that he got the TC or (camry) swap done in charlotte, NC. the car that it was in was totaled. it cost the same as a h22 swap on a civic. he didnt have room for a turbo, but the sc might fit, he still had research to do on it.

so what does everyone think of this?

if your not lying that damn that is awsome i feel a 2zz swap would be better but if the mounts and harnes comes out to do the swaps i might sell my tc for an xa then

i think its worthless since you didnt get pics honestly. theres no way it cost the same as an H22 swap considering the COMPLETE redoing of an xB that would have to be done to have to fit a 2.4 in it. H22 is a swap. the 2.4 would be a transformation.

when you gets pics, ill believe it. until then, its BS in my book.

sorry

the 2az is huge in comparison to the 1nz. it'd have to be full front tube frame. i'm willing to be it's a lie. but if he casn get it done as cheap as a h22 swap which is much cheaper than any xB swap i've tallied up. then i'll drive to georgia and get it done. i'd rather get the 1zz tho. and i'm sure if they could get a 2az for the h22 price then....... 1zz should be as cheap as a b18 swap.

why would you go with a 1zz?? isnt that only 120 hp the only thing you would have to do diffrant is wire up the vvtli on the 2zz correct?? and that litte bit of extra wiring would net you another 60hp off the block for almost the same price

all wish full thinking at this point but one day the xa and xb will see the swap ability that the civic has and gain faim in the racing world with there light weight and good handling

the 1zz and 2zz is sooo much more different than re wirint.

why? well 1 it has 130hp. add trd supercharger 163 whp. in other words 180 or 190 crank hp same as 2zz but for cheaper.

the 2zz 6 speed will not fit in the xB anywhere near easily.

and with the 2zz the inference between the valves and pistons is sooo close that if you over rev it is a very very stong possibility that you will send a valve into a piston.

the 2zz is like a honduh motor. no ***** till 5,000 rpm.

the trd s/c'd 1zz has more torque than the 2zz.

add this to the 1zz a header , intake , and full exhaust you have 180whp.

worthless without pictures, and coming from honda a 2.4 swap would cost more than a H22 swap. If the swap took place he wouldn't have any room left to do any f/i set up unless he completely re-did the framing and extended the front end. Even then its questionable and would be no where near reliable.

1zz swap is definitely one of the best swaps for the xb. Even if you didn't do the s/c like darren said, t/c set ups have been producing pretty good numbers on it.

Something like this you would have took pictures, even with your phone. Or told him about scionlife and he would be on here in a heart beat. Why? Bragging rights due to the fact he successfully did a major swap in the box. Who wouldn't brag about that.

just dont mount it as far back and that should fix the lag issue mount it right past the oil pan well not that close a little past so you dont have a over heating issue but dont mount it where the muffler is then you can do an exhaust cut out directly after it and by pass the cat and resonator

just a thought of course becouse the swap it self would be enought to set most back for a little bit

If this guy is doing all this research why has he never heard of scionlife? why didn't you tell him about it? Why is he not on here posting pics of his setup?
Why are all these people with swaps afraid to post pics on here?
Its not like every other dude on here has the desire or the funds to copy them.
Did you get a shop name? His name? I'd love to believe this but I don't, not for less than $5,000

Full H22 swap (including trans, ecu and everything) is more like $3,900 + depending on what car the swap is in. A hatch for example would probably be more like $5,000+ just for the swap, excluding any other mods.

yea and how much of the work you want to do yourself vs. taking it to a shop!

i sure as hell cant do an engine swap by myself so a shop would be in my future.
