Yeah... that looks like an even tighter engine bay than ours (not sure about the firewall situation on those would be tho...) I can't believe us clever americans haven't figured it out yet.

I think he was referring to the pending release of the Vitz here in the U.S. With a base price just over $10k, it would make a very desirable platform for a motor swap. Small, light weight, cheap, and a Toyota.

So does the Vitz share the same chassis/suspension as the xA/xB?

If celica engine can fit in vits engine bay
WHY NOT IN XB ENGINE BAY
I said a lot of times SWAPING ENGINES IS ONLY MATTER OF TIME

If I am not mistaken the Vitz actually has more room (depth wise) than the xB. I believe the firewall is further back. And judging by the pic of that shoe-horned 2zz above, it looks like you need every millimeter you can get.

I don't know if the site that originally hosted that pic is still up, but I can tell you that they didn't just drop that in in an afternoon and drive home. It was a ridiculously complex project that invovled chopping, welding and swapping in customized drivetrain. In the end it cost about as much as the Vitz itself did.

the 2Z Engine... same thing you see on the corollas XRS and matrix XRS and Celica GTS. I kinda wish the tC has the "L" added to the VVT-i I wonder how much more power do we get.

There is more than enough room for an engine swap-I am totally hoping for the lotus elise 240 motor to be somehow swapped cleanly with the 6 speed tranny.

here in puerto rico are a few celica engines swaps in yaris, tercel and echos and you need to cut the frame for the tranny.

2zz is what my plan is now as the trd s/c with the 1zz won't fit without moving/getting rid of the upper radiator support
