This may or may not work with your situation but when I had my S-10 all I had to do was move the O2 sensor about 2' down the pipe and that cleared my CEL.
All it needed to see was a few degrees cooler air.

Why, may I ask, did you remove the catalytic converter?

Do you really think you gained anything besides the joy of seeing the CEL glow on your dash?

Well in my case the truck had 156K on it and the cat was busted so I decided to go true duals with 3" side pipes.
With it being a 96 all I had to worry about was the OBD2 not throwing a code to make it thru inspection.

according to your site, that part is for the tc,will it still work for a xb? the page said that the parts where tested for the right carb flow for the application. i need to know if it will work for the xb, cause i dont want to buy a part that will not work with my car.

Why would you remove the cat from a new car?

Because he probably has no idea what he is doing and thinks he is going to see "big power gains" by replacing the cat with straight pipe and an O2 sim.

Yeah, I guess the factory didn't know what they were doing when they put it together...emissions equipment really kills the fantastic performance on the Xb. [/quote]

Why do you have to be such a smart a$$?
Maybe he has a need to. I for one removed mine to on purpse get the most free flowing exhaust as possible so I would have extra gas in the tailpipe so I can do a flame thrower at the back like the old hot rods b/c that is the style I am going for with my car, so I guess that means You are a DUMB A$$111

http://www.02simulator.com

now partially i do have to agree with rton20's, the only time removing a cat is going to help is with turbo cars where backpressure isn't really needed, for an n/a motor without high compression and full rebuild, removing the cat will just make your exhaust loud, and make you lose back pressure.....less back pressure=less torque...i've seen automatics stall out at part without cats b/c there wasn't enough comperssion to keep up the backpressure of a straight pipe.

Not agree at all. The catalytic converter with passing the time its converted as a big cork. You can replace with a resonator and you will don't loose compression and does not make the exhaust louder.

Well im ordering the parts tommorow, the exhaust place is gunna charge me around 60 bucks to do it. Again im not doing this in hopes of gaining any hp or anything really, just doing it so at shows i can pull in with an open exhaust and normal driving ill hit a switch and it will just be the regular through my greddy exhaust. Ill let ya know how things turn out.
