do not go to the dealership for the labor they will RIP YOU OFF.....i got one put in my civic last year INSTALLED for like $500...
also just replace the clutch no point to fix it... you could go to any shop and get a brand new aftermarket one (thats better) installed for cheaper than just the labor they want to charge you!! LOL
GOOD LUCK

We don't know that, Jere.
With the amount of actual information we have, we have no idea what "failed" either time, nor do we have any idea of the cause. Most clutch problems I've seen over the last 45+ years of driving were caused by the drivers. (Yeah, some cars have weaker clutches than others, but even those wwith weak clutches, some people drive 'em and easily get 100K miles, others can smoke a 'Vette racing clutch in 10K.)
At this point we don't have enough info (and likely will NEVER have enough info) to know what failed or why - we are only making guesses.
For all we know there was zero damage to the flywheel, or they did resurface it the first time - we just don't know.

And, he said there was 18K miles on the first clutch when it went. According to my clutch install instructions, that means the flywheel should be cleaned up while installing a new clutch.
