Yes that is 170HP @ the fly wheel. Thats why I said about 145whp (wheel horse power.) Even with a dealer installing it, I dont see it being worth the cost. The TC kit runs about the same money & nets more power. I guess its all in taste over all.

True. I am a fan of turbos for sure(haha fan=turbo). I guess a warranty from the dealer wouldn't really matter anyway being it is in a different car. And turbos can be fabbed a lot cheaper than the SC. Good call, Chucksu!

The person who started this thread doesn't own an xB (or any car for that matter). He's 13 despite the 24 next to his SN.
You can see his other stupid questions at https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=79051

i wonder if a 4AGE engine would fit maybe a lil customizing but i dont think much i mean its a 1.6 litre and you can get the 20valve 160hp or the 3e from a toyota starlet in japan which has 252hp and its turbo that would be an engine to do research on my buddy has that engine in a 93 tercel

Would an engine swap void my warranty?

I like the look of the xA, thats why i bought it. But I would like some decent power. But my beef is with Toyota for not putting more horses in the engine thats all. I don;t want a typical Honda with the typical engine swaps and mods.

Out of most of the swaps, this one seems to be the most ideal. Some have tried ie: rear clip from MR2 with this engine. I have not seen any more input on if he ever got it in & running or not. In idea, it should not be to hard. The engine should be about the same size, might mount up to our tranny, might not. It would be like the honda guys putting the ZC engine into civics that came with the D15s & what not. Some extra work needed, but can be done.

Yeah I dont think toyota would give you a warrenty on the S/C being installed on 1ZZ-FE engine inside a car that came with a 1NZ-FE engine any ways.

i thought about that too, cuz i had a 20valve in my hachiroku. 20valve looks like it would sit soo nicely in there, only thing is running the headers and exhaust. because xb headers and intake mani are switched. youd have to extend the exhaust a bit to suffice for the headers being moved to the front. motor mounts, looks like the motor may bolt right up. maybe some customizing, but a 20 valve would be awesome. the individual throttle body system works so well too. think about that swap, its a good idea mellow, ill consider it, maybe ill be the first to LOL.

Then just drive the Elise, don't pretend you're gonna pull the engine out...

Think again. The celica is light. My 02 GTS weighed about the same or less than my xB does....

simple fact of the matter why it hasn't been done by normal xB owners?? cause no one has the money nor the sense to pay the money to get it done. is it worth spending the money on? for most it's not.

anything is possible with money, time, effort and skill though. hell, you could tear out the back seats, cut up the rear and convert it to a mid-engined rear wheel drive if you wanted to.

other then that it's all speculation and internet wrenching... period.
