Default XB Exhaust Question?

I want to get a sporty exhaust system when I get my new box.
The only question I have is do you guys think I should go with the Scion XB Catback from Magnaflow or the TRD Axle-back Exhaust System available at the dealership.

Please post your thoughts.

Given the two choices I'd say Magnaflow. I haven't heard great things about the TRD. I hear it doesn't hang correctly which can cause it to come in contact with the rear bumper and melt it. That's just what I hear... If you do go the TRD route don't buy from the dealer. They are always way overpriced.

Between the two choices you listed above, I would go w/ the Magnaflow catback system.

In about another month or so, I'll have some axlebacks ready to sell too.

i would make your choices

- magnaflow catback
or
- precision muffler axle back w/ magnaflow muffler

you can't go wrong with those choices

just to add some extra info..
why is it TANABE, GREDDY, APEX, TRD,
and tons more quality japanese manufacturers NOT making
cat back, but instead they make an axle back.

until u see the dyno results i dont think anyone should speculate.
from wat i hear, catback makes u lose some back pressure,
i just thought that the companies i listed have been designing
exhausts for import cars for over 10 years, and they most
likely know what they're doing, i really dunno how long
magnaflow have been doing custom exhausts for.

i always thought magnaflow was the generic universal mufflers
u get when ur stock car rusts out and they give u a OEM REPLACEMENT!
thats just my opinion, i dunno if its 100% true or not, i thought i just
let u know so u might have a different pespective(from a NON magnaflow owner like me)

Funny, the generic OEM replacement on the Civic I had was only $30, yet the magnaflows are at least twice that. And the generics rusted thru after a couple of years.

im sorry to tell u this, but many people who
buy things, swear it works and it works DAMN good.
whats next the TORNADO = HP?
i just wanted to emphasize that people aren't dyno's
theres no way u can feel how many HP gain or loss u have.
since thats the case, i just wanted the buyer to be aware of
dyno's and results. that way nobody needs to talk out of their ___.

FYI, here's some history on MagnaFlow. We've been working in the catalytic and exhaust business for 20+ years, and has offered everything from high flow cats, to exhausts and everything in between. There are many top name companies that actually sub contract us to manufacture their systems, both as OE and aftermarket. We may not be as known in the sport compact market as some of the other Japanese manufacturers but that doesn't mean that people here aren't capable of putting together power producing systems. As for gains on the xB system, take a look at the dyno chart I've attached below... brand new '04, automatic, only modification was the cat-back.
