Default xB Nitrous Manifold, Pic’s inside….

Just thought I would post up a few pic’s of one of the direct port nitrous kits that we did for a xB recently. This kit is adjustable from 50hp to 250hp and comes with everything you need to make it work. We also can do these kits on tC’s and xA’s. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Have you tested it yet? I take it that the 250 shot needs a lot of internal upgrading too.

Looks very nice except for the JB Weld. Looks like a great setup for people wanting a little boost in the HP department.

We have tested the 50hp setting but nothing higher as of yet. For the 250hp setting...........ya you are going to want a couple of upgraded internals.

The JB weld is actually two part epoxy that makes sure we don't have any air leaks with the nozzles. We only use it on the intakes that are plastic for sealing purposes over time.

Thanks guys

The kit is $725 for the Nitrous Kit (50-250) and the plumbing. You must supply the manifold.

Thanks

Do you happen to have a pic of it installed? It looks like it wouldn't fit because of interference with the radiator.it looks as if it is also hard lines , not flexible.

Default juice

Thats a pretty cool setup. I put my nitrous direct port nozzles right into the head.
I didn't take any pics on the install. Now the all system and nozzles is hidden from sight .Next time when I have the motor pulled out for the rods and pistons I will take some pics of the system you have to see it its also a sweet setup.

I'd be very worried about a 50 shot hurting the motor. Back in the day, there was a guy in FL who had a 50 shot put on, and he took it to a shop and they horsed around and blew the motor. Any Realiability test on it like this?

img gonna agree with the guy above me in saying putting nitrous on might not be a great idea. It wouldnt be so bad if it wasn't a plastic intake manifold, and the motor was actually made to handle the extra power. Whats gonna happen is some kid with absolutly nothing done to his motor is gonna do it, and destroy his motor. i wish we had better intake manifolds

not sure what a better intake has to do with nitrous.

I promise you will not "blow the welds on the intake"

The only way you will blow the intake is a backfire, and I would rather have shards of plastic than shards of metal if that did happen.

The motor is going to be your limiting factor. If you have a 2 stage nitrous or a progressive controller you can get more juice into the motor.

For example 100 is about the max safe shot for a stock LT1, but I knew a guy with a 2 stage setup that also had failsafes for fuel pressure, full throttle switch, bottle pressure, and a soft rev limiter (cuts spark rather than cutting fuel). He ran a 190 shot, over 100 passes down the strip with no trouble.

Problems come if you have a lean condition while running the juice, hence the wet shot like you see above, that adds gas at the same time as the nitrous, to prevent the lean condition.

With the right failsafes and a progressive controller I would expect 50-75 being perfectly safe for these motors. The key is doing it right.

A cheap kit will let you spray, but will not keep your engine safe.

I will get some pic's up of it installed here in the next day or so. As for the plastic manifolds......there is 100% no problem with using them. The only way the manifold is going to be a problem is if you do have a back fire which was mentioned above. If that doesn't happen................then no problems. We have been running nitrous on plastic manifolds for over 6 years now with NO failures!!

Tell that to all the owners of all the LS1 Firebird, camaro and corvette owners, who have "composite" aka plastic manifolds. Including those that run 250+shots on these same manifolds.

A couple of my buddies here in town just ran a best of 10.59 on their 98 camaro, pumping a 250 direct port. They are hoping to run that NA next year, and about a second lower on the juice. They are going to build a 408 stroker.

Trust me when I say, manifold material has no bearing on nitrous use.
