Default greddy or hks turbos? or even why ind.

i was going to go with the greddy kit, and then i reembered hks makes a kit for the xb too, i never hear anyone talk about the hks and its ore expensive than the greddy. which kit is better, or higher quality i should say, which is easier to tune? i know people will say o go wit tod i think his nae is at why industries, but i cant remember how much boost its pushing, and its a lil expensive for me, and then i still need to get a boost cont, a/f gauge, the management system and that prob about it, i need that stuff, but wit the greddy bein only 2200, and doin custom fmic and piping, then getting that other stuff, its like 3400, or something like that so isnt that just as much as tods kit? ive heard nothing but good about his kit, but im just not sure i want to, or can pay over 4k by the time im done. should i go greddy or hks, or really just save for tods kit? thanks for the help in advance guys, this is a personalized question i think so i didnt search, but i have been on the forum for a year or so, so i read as much on turbo kits as i can btw.

I actually had the HKS turbo setup. Its not intercooled, and comes with the the FCON mini for fuel management. It ran about 6psi of boost.

Was a very nice setup. A bit pricey, but anything HKS is expensive and the quality is incredible.

save your money, don't make impatient decisions.
decide exactly what you want. save up till you have more money than you think you'll need.
a little patience with save you alot of heAdache

wait until/IF / will not become carb approved.

unless of course the thought of getting your car impounded after a hood pop sounds appealing to you.

im currently installing my TT kit as we speak and everything is not going well. Charge pipes are being a pain in the a$$. I hope im going something wrong, but besides that the quality of construction and parts used are SUPERB!! Its definitely worth the money, if i can only get it to work.

they CAN just pop your hood.(all they need is the suspicion that you have non carb compliant parts underhood and that's enought reasonable cause to do so) wait til it's happened to you more than 10 times. and you've paid fines for nothing , or improperly written tickets or paid fine when it was supposed to be a fix it or paid a fix it ticket and had to go to court when the item in question was never illegal in the first place.

from a bone stock scion , to a very mild quiet supra , to my scion as it is now , to my old 84 toyota pickup , to my old 81 bmw.

I don't race and I make a conscious effort to stay away from tuner hangouts. And always drive the speed limit when on city streets.

thats really weird man, cuz half my family is cops and ive asked everyone of them about this, and they say they need more than suspicion that you have something, they need a warrant, they can impound your car and get one if you refuse, but its a bluff, 90% of the time they will not deal with impounding the car just to see if their is something illegal under your hood. i not sayin you never got pulled over ir ticketed, just telling you what i know.
