Default interested in turbo set up if anyone is putting back to stock

ive been mulling the idea over to turbo charge the xa. problem is that i dont want to pay a bunch of $$$ to do it. it doesnt have to be super nice or top notch, just functional. even thought about an ebay kit, just for the price. also only looking at 5 psi max just to have the power.

Don't do it. Unless you're lucky enough to find someone selling a used setup that was already fitted and tuned for an xA, and you saw the car run. Go the eBay or from an xB route and you will be spending extra $$ to get it fit on the xA and run right.

I had a Greddy supercharger, then turbo kit on the xB with no major issues, though those kits were made for an xB. However, when I wanted more I bought a custom Garrett kit, which supposedly had already been installed and ran on an xB. The piggyback ECU they sent wasn't tuned and I couldn't drive above 25 mph, and had to spend an extra $1500 in tuning and adding an external wastegate because the internal setup was creating boost creep. I would not do it again if I had a choice.

Some people get lucky, but on average it takes $$ to play in the turbo arena, at the very least have a $500-$1000 reserve fund if things go wrong or break, more if you can't provide your own labor.

hey, thanks for the advise. do you know of any where that makes a kit specific to the xa (auto)? almost all of the kits i have seen are for the xb, but there would only have to be just a couple things that need to be tweaked to work on the xa, mainly pipe routing?

here are some links from what i have found, maybe you could point me some where keeping in mind that i am looking for a bolt on and go with minimal work needed to get it to run:

would any of these be able to work on the xa with out much tweaking?
