Default Methanol/Water/Alky Injection (cheep safe power)

Has anyone used Methanol/Water/Alky Injection with a turbo xb yet. I ask because I also own a srt-4 and the srt-4 community loves it and its always talked about in our community. I personally use it and its one of my favorite mods because its safe cheep power and if used right it helps protect your motor but iv never seen it even pop up as a topic on here.
Its great stuff and as bad as it sounds for a motor its actually a great thing for a motor basically its literally inter-cooling or inner cylinder cooling. in simple terms, what it dose for you people that don’t no is it injects Methanol/Water/Alky (your choice of wichever) into the cold side intercooler piping it cools the piping, intake manifold and the head and evaporates before it makes it into the cylinder. now straight water is the best for cooling. but because methanol alky is a fuel source and has 1: a higher octane and 2: stronger combustion some people run it straight,
now alky is normally mixed with the water but it doesn’t have to, just running alky will richen up your car allowing for more boost as well as decrease knock just like running higher octane gas. but it doesn’t cool as well (it takes twice the amount of alky to cool as water) a 50/50 mix will cool just as good as straight water but increase power from the motor ingesting the alky and rise power from dropping the intake temp and make running higher boost safer by decrees the chance of detonation .
Now im sure some of you are saying “isn’t methanol alky expensive” yes and no, its 3-5 dollars a gallon depending on where you get it but your only using it when the car is under boost. the system that injects it only injects it at a set psi so it wont use any if your not boosting also its injecting very very little, also normal blue -20deg windshield washer fluid is 37% methanol alky and 62% water and 1% blue dye now heet which is used for removing water from gas lines is 95% methanol alky and 5% lubricant, they can both be found at any gas station and i use one gallon of the mix for every 12 gal of gas so everytime i fill up i throw in a gallon of the mix (but i also boost alot in my srt-4). I run as well as many other methanol/water/alky injection users mix one bottle of heet and cheep windshield washer fluid and use that and it works great and only cost $2.50. iv tested on a dyno 2 runs on a 50/50 mix of methanol alky and water. And then 2 runs of the heet /windshield washer fluid mix and there was no drop or gain in power. I also tested be for and after the kit I gained 20hp which will differ from car to car it all depends on the mods the car already has.
As soon as I get a wideband for my xb I will get the kit on the xb and see what I can get out of it. Here is a link of the kit im using on my srt and I will be using on my xb soon http://www.aquastealth.com/index.asp...ProdID=88&HS=1 this is a great kit it comes with everything needed and uses a solenoid so the system is always primed and ready to go for quick activation., some kits use a check valve I don’t like these setups because they have a slow reaction time from the point the psi swich kicks in to the time it actually reaches your intake where in a solenoid setup as soon as the trigger get to the set psi its injects.
Also if you are planning on running windshield washer fluid and want to make sure you get the right stuff this is how you do it first make sure its the blue fluid next make sure its not a deicer formula or bug remover formula. Next is the test shake the crap out of it and let it sit a sec it will bubble up a bit and then the bubbles will quickly disappear if it takes more then 30sec for the bubbles to disappear then don’t buy because it may have something else in it like cleaning solutions. There is also -50deg windshield washer fluid that is 50% alky / 49% water / 1% blue dye and there is no need to mix in heet but this fluid is vary hard to find and is also comonly mistaken for boat and marine waterline antifreeze do NOT use boat /marine water line antifreez its not the same and will probely damage things.

I agree a 1000% this is a great mod for a turboed xB or xA.. Well worth the money you spend on it.. So this is a great heads up for all the future boosted xB's and xA's.. A very good post/thread.

it's been talked about a few times. I use it and like it, although i never have had my car tuned for it yet, so it just runs really rich. so it's just been a safeguard for my car. I'm sure once it's tuned for it, lots of power will be unleashed. I know after every 1/4 mile pass i make, the intake manifold is actually cold to the touch, even when it was 90 degrees out side. No intercooler can do that.

the kit in my link is also a friend of mine. i will say that his kits are by far one of the best iv seen mainly because he test all of his kits as well as adjust the pumps on and off pressure to the size of the jet your using to make sure the kit stays at the same psi. im not trying to nock anyones kit(s) but i do notice that because a water injection kit is so easy to DIY if you no where to get the parts, but alot of people dont relize that befor its on the car the kit needs to be setup and ran threw tests and adjusted for the size of the jet your using. relly you should use the same lengh of tubing to the pump from the tank and from the pump to the solanoid and frem the solinoied to the jet and then adjust the pump but its not that big of a deal just as long as its setup for the jet.

I agree. I own an SRT that was running W/I and also own an xB. If I was to force induct the xB it would have an alky injection kit.
