ok, real world experience for ya.
tC injectors are dimensionally a little shorter overall, they do not stick as far down into the head as stock. their top o-ring is also a little higher than original.
car idles fine, is running VERY rich (duh) in current state, have let the car idle for 15 mins, took it for 2 5 minute spins (engine was warm when i did the swap, so i'm definitely in closed loop) and ironically my CEL hasn't come back. i've had a CEL ever since my Cat mysteriously gutted itself and then fell off altogether.. not sure how long that will last, but i'm definitely putting the stock inj back on tonight.. it's times like this i wish i had a wideband O2 sensor.

not a clue.. i'm gonna try a "toyota" reflash just for the fun of it if they can reflash the tC ECU to compensate for boost, why not mine?

Hmmm... I wonder how the tc supercharger reflash would work on your setup.
I'm guessing they keep the tune on the rich side, so as not to blow anything up. Since the supercharger is around 200whp, that would mean like what, around 3-5psi, forgot how much they are boosting.
I'm guessing you would be fine as long as you keep your hp under 200whp. I have to think about it for a while though, since supercharger and turbocharger are two different beasts.
Supercharger tune is more linear, compared to a turbo tune which is more like a parabola.
Just a theory though
Tuning my car has showed me a lot. Even though its taking forever haha.

great thread
I have thought about this setup, maybe a kit to be able to use an eclipse intercooler and ebay tdo4l-they are pretty much worthless to wrx guys, and cheap upgrades are abound if need be( td04l is good to 300 chp though) I agree with you on the greddy setup, has some interesting IC plumbing.
The DRAG header is interesting-about $200 and fits a t25,I think a dsm turbo would bolt up, but a plate adapter could be made to fit the TD04, seems like a pretty cheap way to avoid all of the fab of a manifold.
The td04l is wastegated at 6-7 psi stock (spring pressure), some of the 2.5rs turbo guys have modded the actuator for less boost.
What are your thoughts on a downpipe? I think you could get away with 2,25" or maybe 2.5" on the 1.5. Stock suby is about 2.4" right?

side note
What does that long-block weigh? They say about 185 lbs for the motor, but not sure if taht includes accessories. any chance you have a bathroom scale handy?

i can pick up the engine and transmission together myself.. not carry it very far, but i have the ability. i know the trans weighs 80 lbs (i've weighed it) im guessing the long block is around 150 without accessories. i don't have a long block to weigh unfortunately. that block you see has nothing in it, no pistons, rods, crank, etc. the head is stripped as well.
i'm gonna use a downpipe i got from a stock legacy i believe, it's 2.5". i'm gonna do 2.5" all the way back. i don't want to buy a manifold, simply because i DO want to learn from this. the less i buy and the more i build, the more useful i am in the future to other people's projects.
the TD04 i have will work, and is in great shape. we'll see what happens.

yeah, I think the td04 is just about perfect for the 1.5, it run's out up top with a 2.0 low compression.
Are you going to run an emanage? Post pics when you get further
