Rods are on the way. We should have rods in 2 weeks. The pistons are ours private labeled and made to our specs. Feel free to find out more about our company at www.raceprecision.com or come by our office. Some of you have already stopped by and seen the kind of cars we work on and the quality of work.

If you get a chance, let me know who told you they can make the piston set for you at the $400-500 range. Maybe I can work something out with them.

hey Eloy so why did yall go with a 9.5:1 compression piston instead of a 8.5:1 compression piston?

Its all in the mathematics of what we want to do with this displacement engine, set up, etc. At 8.5:1, it would be too low for what we want to do.

The rods will be sold separate. I will have to check on the pins however. Even though your are going supercharged, I would still lower the compression, with a head gasket, pistons or whatever. The stock compression is very high for any kind of fi.

yeah but with the same boost as was built for the standard compression then bumping it down to 9.5 i'd lose power. gain reliability and longevity but lose a ton of ponies.

the whole idea on droping comprecion is to up the boost so you won't loose the HP. Ive been looking into swaping out and making new pulleys for the greddy blower to spin it faster. The only problem is finding a new blower belt. I talked to a gentalman at magna who said thay have used that same blower chassie and it maxes out at about 17psi. 9.5 compression with rolhard internal and 17 psi from the blower and a xb will be a hand full. but im looking foward to it

If you know the size of the belt you need, in most cases you can go to an auto parts supplier and match up to what you need. 17psi on an SC will make monstor torque.

oh i know all about how it works. i also plan on doing whatever but i need to be legal so i wouldn't be able to modify the greddy prepared emanage.... to tunes it. and i'm going to doubt the 17psi would be that easy to get out of their blower.

Where are you getting your info from Darren? When I talked to Greddy at SEMA they said they were considering going for CARB excemption on the turbo, but weren't even considering the supercharger.
