Default 12V Source

Where is a good source of 12V in the dash area of the 2006 Scion Xb? I'm trying to connect an amplified antenna as well as a Satellite Tuner. In the old days we used the hot wire for the cigarette lighter. If the Cig Lighter is OK, how do you gain access to it? Thanks for all those who reply!!

there are 3 or 4 spots in the fuse box in front of the drivers seat that you can use. At least one each constant and acc power.

If your connecting your satellite radio, I think its only a 6v be sure to check on that before you burn it out! Or that may have been my Solo S2, I can't remember either way be sure to check...

This is how i added an "ignition ON" source. Add-a-circuit from AutoZone $6.

I took your advice on the add-a-circuit, the product says not to run it with anything larger than a 10 fuse, but triple 12v plug and GPS would not kick on till put a 15 fuse in there. Are you using a fuse larger than 10, and if so, any problems?

Do you mean that fuses less than 15 amp get blown? If so, i would probably run the Add-a-circuit just as a control for the relay. They say not to run anything more than 10 Amp , but thats mostly because they dont want you to overload unknown circuit in the fuse box. The add-a-circuit will pull even 20amp without melting or anything like that from my experience with another car (it was not a "mini fuse" version though, but it also had 10amp rating warning)

Here's another pic.
This is how I have my setup UB lights & interior LED's hooked up. I have 2 switches running off of that same circuit. No problems.

that is true ^^^
do you have to take off the plastic over the steering column for that? Or can you find it running down a little farther, easier to reach?

i took off the cover, it was easy, just turn the steering wheel until you can see the two screws, remove them, then pop off the bottom cover, less than 5 mins...

I have my LED's power in the very top left one cuz that one is on when the key is on too.
What my question is. the bottom row, second in from the left, is that 10v also? Cuz i need to use a different power source for my Autotechnic S7 overlay gauge cuz i believe that I am drawing too much power from the led one because i also put the power wire for the gauge off of that same line. And because when I have my wipers on low, the gauge flickers everytime the wipers go up. It's very subtle but i am worried, so i bought another mini add a line.

So any reccomendaton on which other one to use if i am using the top left one? (im hoping that the one in this pic that is circled will work)

I just returned my add-a-fuse too, since I didn't use it for a different mod...

I'm going to be hooking up my interior lights using the above setup.
