lavabox, i used 2" 12 GA aluminum strap for the rear brackets. i'll be re-doing with 1X2" tubing, get a couple more cm's of height.
the seatbelt will actually attach to a Cpillar brace i have planned. :D

nice set up! damn, now I really have to get a set of those Torino's I've been eyeing on :D
A little off topic, how are your Tanabe coil's holing up? It would be great to get some feedback on it.

these seats weigh 14lbs
stock seats weigh 65 lbs.

Personally, I applaud you ! It's original, creative & weird - in a good way. And, it's sure a lot easier to remove for racing than the original, and it maintains a useful rear seat.
I don't think racing an Xa is any kind of joke. These cars are a blast to drive - period! The more mine gets hooked up, the more I love it.
By the time I get done, my Xa will be a Cooper S killer, not to mention all the wanna-be Hondas, etc... that won't know what hit'em!
PS - A BIG THANKS FOR REPRESENTING SCION AT THE TRACK!

Not exactly my cup of tea but nice job...looks good.
I'd be one of the people that add 800 pounds to their car to make it go boom boom boom....of course most of the weight is deadening to keep the boom boom in.

Autox IMHO is not racing. Racing does not occur in a parking lot full of cones and should involve cornering speeds over 30mph.
I'm not saying that autox is not competitive or that it doesn;t require skill. I'm just saying that you autox your car, you don't race it.

Hrm, seems to me your definition of race is a bit narrow. To me anything where you are trying to accomplish a set task in as little time as possible or before other competitors is racing. I mean, my sister and I used to race to see who could finish our popsicles faster or whatever. I would still use the word race, just me though.
It is true that racing at autox speeds could potentially be much different than racing where you are cornering at 30+, I don't know too much about car racing.

I like it.
It's not like you're judged on a subjective platform such as in figure skating.

i applaud you on the three seats. i wish i even had the cash for 1, let alone 3. i say u build a stereo system with subs fiberglassed around the seats pointed towards the front, and maybe 2 towards the rear
