Default 7" in-dash install help! Video input has fuzzy lines...

I just installed a Sony XAV-7W 7" in-dash motorized LCD. I hooked everything up and the head unit works great. The sound is amazing.

I also put an xBox in my xB and hooked that up to the brain unit. When I play the xBox video source there are little white lines and a tiny bit of picture distortion on the screen.

This only happens on the video input screen. The RCA cables for my xBox that I used are Monster Cables so the cable shouldnt be the problem. If anybody has had this problem or knows how to fix it please help me out...

I'm pretty sure you would have to use a power inverter and cheap ones cause noise.

that makes no sense to me but I will take your word on it. I dont know how the power inverter would cause noise with the inputs. Especially cause they arent anywhere near each other. If someone could explain this I would appreciate it...

read on the internet, unless you spend money on a pure sine inverter your going to get noise alot of the times. No suprise here, this is well known in the AV industry

Yeah I will have to do some more research. Perhaps I jumped into monitors too quickly without the knowledge. Thanks for the input.

What would be a good inverter somebody could reccommend?

the screen picks up a "visible noise" from the game system b/c they are not made to run through a power inverter.

Im getting a better power inverter from a friend of mine this weekend. Im hoping this will solve the problem. He said it was a good one and he would know cause he works for a custom car audio place near Philly that is well known and respected...

...13"flip-down goes in tomorrow!

Are the RCA cables new? Are the cables anywhere near a source of power (such as power cable for your amp)? It sounds like it could be the power inverter but the cables might also be a problem..

search for a pure sine inverter, those are the ones that minimize this issue.

its not the power inverter. its the lack of power of the screen...when you flip ur Xbox on ur taking XXX amount of watts into your power inverter and ur sucking up juice from running it...the screen itself takes a lot of power...meter the power line on the screen while running ur xbox and ur other units....if its under 9.6v...find another source...or go straight to the battery source...trust me it helps...i HAD the same issue...and it was not my 300 dollar power inverter...
