Default 9 inch in dash screen installed!

Well folks, stage 1 is complete. The 9 inch screen is flushed in the dash and the Pioneer 5000 is installed in the storage compartment. I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I've got a little tweaking to do (slight glimpse of silver at the side of the screen from certain angles), but I love it!!

That looks great! Did you have to fabricate anything? Or did u just creatively backloaded it?

Thanks everyone!! I think it turned out awesome. Most of the customization is in modifying the screen that goes in the dash. After the screen is prepared (by shedding it's casing and reattaching circuit boards) the rest is just some creative dremel trimming and silicone adhesive. I wouldn't say it's easy but well worth it. A friend of mine did it for me. He works at a audio/video store and he specializes in this mod for Hummer H2's - it is basically the same for the Xb only the 9 inch screen actually fits the opening in the Xb better than the H2.

The screen started out it's life as a Icon 9 inch flip down screen.

Congrats! I didn't think it was possible... I remember sometime ago when you asked if it was, and I thought it wouldn't work. I too am an Icon-TV dealer, and I know the picture quality of the 9" is among the best!

The eye for the remote is in the vent to the right of the screen. I tried to take a picture of it but it is just too dark in there to see it. It works great though.
