good job Torq

next on the list for me is going to be a row of rgb's in the handles with a custom built controller to do colors & patterns.
Just have to build the RGB LED strips so that it will work with my card.
I want to put in Superflux LED's
I wish Oznium had some that work with my card.

They just put some new LED strips on their site & some kindof RGB controller. I'd like to see what that controller can do!

Wow, I always though LEDs were lame but I guess I never looked at them enough. I've seen the light and I've changed my ways of thinking. For those of us who don't have cathodes installed, how easy is it to wire these up? I see that it's just 12+ and ground...
Can you just tap into the dome light so they will work in conjunction with the dome light? What about wiring them off a constant 12v and putting them on a toggle switch?

Thanks, and OP, your lights look great!

yeah wasnt to bad at all, of course it was easier since I already had the cathodes and switch installed. I was also thinking about having them hooked up to the dome light but not really sure if I want it that way yet. I'm happy with just the switch right now.

Just ordered $50 worth of LEDs in various forms from Oznium! Will update with pics once they arrive.

Went with white cathodes for front and under front seat, white LEDs for cupholders and various cubbies, and white flex strips for the rear hatch area... possibly the taillight access panels.

Hey somebody try this...
I stripped down one of those LED strips.
Take a razor and cut the back of the strip,
peel off the clear plastic housing,
Buzz flat the head of the LED's,
pop em in the handle.
You probably dont even need to dremel out the middle rib because these strips are so thin (be careful not to tear it). Just pop em in!

You want to buzz down the LED's and make them flat so that the light will be diffused instead of having a bunch of little spot lights shining on your headliner.

You can secure them with some type of adhesive.

I think they will fit without dremeling, but I would have to check and make sure.

yeah I looked at what ur saying, that strip inside the rubber house looked really small. Probly would work like you said, would save some time from cutting and dremeling. But for me the rubber housing is a added benefit, I considered it kid proofing...LOL...

Here is a heads up for you, if you tie the LEDs into your interior lights, you will loose the fade as they go out. It will just stay on a few seconds the go out all at once.

Nice write up. And I like the fact that the install isnt to difficult. I may have to do this and add to my grren cathodes and green LED doorlocks.

Looks great. I did mine in a very similar fashion, but actually soldered my own strips. I would have rather done it your way

Here is a pic of mine. After the pic, I ended up grinding the tips flat and filling the gaps with clear silicone. The light is more dispersed now..
