Unhappy air bag question

I have a wicked rattle in my dash that I can't find, i have taken the whole dash off and tried to locate but have been unable to, I want to drive around with the dash off to see where the sound is coming from, but as I understand you are supposed to unplug the battery when before disconnecting the airbag which I do, but to drive it around I will have to reconnect the battery, what will happen? I believe I will get an airbag error or some sort correct? that has to be reset at the dealer? I almost don't care right now because this rattle is driving me nuts....

...yeah, you'll definetly have to re-connect the battery to drive the car around...they don't usually start without that...

it'll throw the airbag light but it'll go off once you reconnect it..

You can leave the battery disconnected and drive the car, if your going down hill... Or have some friends who are looking to work out by pushing cars around

I read what I put again and I swear I never asked if I can drive around with the battery disconnected, I am asking if I can drive around with the airbag disconnected and not get some permanent error coming up that I can't clear with out the dealers assistance

You don't even have to disconnect the battery when unplugging the airbag, the SRS light will come on anyway. Everything will go back to normal once you install the dash back.
You can plug 3 Ohm resistors instead of the passenger or driver airbag and drive like that as long as you want and there will be no lights.

Well I found out driving around with the dash off and the airbag unplugged the computer does not allow the transmission to shift into.... I guess it would be 4th. I guess its some type of safety measure... and I found out where the rattle was. its not even in the dash its in the auto shifter mechanism funny how sound travels around inside a car.

So I found the rattle, it was coming from the jack under my seat, the only reason I found it was because I rode in the back seat of my car last weekend. Glad I found it , amazed at where it was coming from did not sound like that from the front seat.....
