Mine's on top...I would put the amp on the other side or mount it to the box. The only reason I haven't mounted mine to the box is b/c I've never seen another Alpine box and have no intention of drilling holes through mine I would definately get rid of the cap unless you end up getting a lot going on inside. From just the back, looking @ the car, it looks like you got excited and got a cap and just threw it on there when it isn't needed...and Alpine is classy, I like to think, so putting that cap right on top of it doesn't keep with that theme, let's say...IMO.
