Alpine CDA-9853 vs. Pioneer DEH-P6800MP- opinions?
Are there any major differences between these two systems...and anyone have comparative experience with either? I am in the market for a new HU and am looking at these two or perhaps the Pioneer DEH-P5800MP.
Thanks for your opinions. :D

Id rather try matching the CDA-9857(better than) or the 9852(about the same) as the 6800 which is still an awesome unit. The 57 has better rca outputs and a few more features, but both Alpines have 10x better ipod controls with the high speed cable. If your not doing iPod, Id do the pioneer

I actually think Im going to go for the pioneer DEH-4800mp.....because it has all the features I need and its cheaper....bout 149.99
I guess when im poor i have to settle for a little less. :D

I just ordered the 7800 for myself...the full color OEL is amazing to look at. Looks soooo good at night.
I paid about $289 for the unit and about $11 to ship it, i believe.
I can't wait to get it installed.

DON'T DO IT!!!
Here is another vote for the alpine, actually for a different alpine CDA 9856. this is the one I have. I too have had nothing but awesome eperiences with alpine products.
Here are my big advantages that are practical rather than just looking at the numbers the manufacture spits. Lets face it you are just altimatly looking at interface control. Especially if you end up putting a system in it..
So Pioneer youcan't play iTunes on a disc.. Lame!!
Pioneer you have to buy a spendy adapter for iPod, LAME!
Alpine the adapter for the speed bus or what ever it is called is 15$ and you can control all your music from the head unit. THis is way better and safer than running your iPod into the aux input in the front of the stereo.
Plus with the Alpine I think you get better overall control.
They are both great head units, I believe it just comes down to preference.
