Default ALPINE OR POLK

First off I would like to thank everyone who helped me with rims and tire sets and finding a wicked grill but yet again I need help.

I am looking to either get an entire alpine or polk system.....and need your advice. I want everyone's good or bad experiences with these brands.

Now most likely I will get the two 12" alpine type S subs with the matching amp to run it or I will get one or two Polk 12" Signature Referance subs depending on how many watts I wanna run and if I wanna buy a new alternator yada yada yada. the sub is below. My friend had a 12" Polk Momo sub and it was nice but I like deep bass thats clear and I thought it could have been better.

http://www.cardomain.com/item/POLSR124DVC

My old system was two 12" Rocksford Fosgate HE2(then P3 after they were discontinued) with two 601S amps and two one farad caps. Bought it all at Best buy and blew them up every week and I loved the bass cause it was insane. However I didn't like this annoying sound when I turned the car on...the subs would pop???? Has it ever happened to you before maybe its because I took it to Best Buy I dunno. Anyway that was a really nice system but I have grown to hate Rocksford Fosgate cause everytime I turned my car on my subs would pop and I would blow them all the time.

The subs ran at 500rms per subs(supposidly) not sure about the amps or how they would wired.

If you had the patience to read this entire articleyou should pat yourself on the back(Go ahead ill wait) If you can help me pick out a nice system through cardomain.com or pick out an all alpine system through best buy which ever is better sound and price wise that numerous people will agree with then I will send you a check for like 20 or 30 bucks cause I need someone who knows what they are talking about and not some retard saying buy a JL W7 cause its the most expensive.

Also if you can try to get everything all one brand

Why do you want all of one brand?

Anyways, I'm not a fan of Alpine Apls and Subs, they just don't seem worth the money, and don't sound very nice.

Not a fan of Audiobahn, because of my bad experiences with them (poor quality).

Kicker, can't say anything bad about them, except $$$. I love kicker amps, and subs.

MTX, don't know, I've never had anything from MTX. Same goes for Polk/MOMO

Rokford Fosgate, many people I know have RF compnents in their system, and I can't believe how hard all of it hits, and the sound quality!

I'm suprised you haven't looked into any companies like Crossfire. Their BMF subs combined with their amps sound SO good, and hit very hard.

Also, I'm not a fan of CC or BB doing car audio. I really don't trust their installers. I always goto a local car audio shop in town, which has a better rep, better products, and they really know their stuff.

Here is some information form another site I am a member of.

This is the infamous Good, Bad, and Ugly list.

These are some generalized groupings and very subjective. We've simply stated our experiences with the products whether they are direct installs, personal property or extensive research. You should always physically audition a product before purchase because you are the one who will determine whether or not an item "sounds good" or not.
The overall groupings are based on performance, reliability, and build quality, without regard to price.

This topic, while being controversial, is simply a generalized guide meant for beginners in the hobby. Many brands specialize in certain items, ie. better amplifiers than speakers, better mids than subs, etc... Also almost all manufacturers offer entry level products as well as high performance lines. Good luck with your decisions.

We've broken this section into 4 catagories:
1: Bad (avoid)
2: Questionable (mixed reviews, disputed, unsure, or depends on the item)
3: Good (just about always worth consideration)
4: Highly Recommended (considered audiophile grade)
