I need an Amp hopefully someone will help me choose one. I own 2 12" Audiobahn AW1251T. I want to match the subs with and Audiobahn amp. The specs of the subs are 1 sub 400 watts r.m.s. @2ohms, 800 watts peak. So double that I have 800 watts r.m.s. and 1600 peak. I really want an amp that will suport peak power. I would like audiobahn amps suggestions, but other brands are cool too. Over all I want the best bang for my buck.

I recently bought an Audiobahn A8000T 800W RMS mono amp and I love it. I have 2 12-inch AW120T Audiobahn Subs at 500W RMS and it pushes the hell outta these things. I suggest getting the A8000T or possibly the A8002T. It is 800W at 2ohms and 400W at 4 ohms and 1600 peak. I got mine for $199 from a local dealer but have seen them online for 149. Good luck with the purchase and let us know what you end up with.

Thanks for the info. I've seen that amp before and wondered if it was strong enough. I didn't want to end up buying an amp that would be more than I needed, I actually considered buying the Audiobahn A2300HCT. It's a great amp, but I am new to this and wasn't sure what to get.

go to crutchfield.com and get thier phone number and give them a call. thier sales advisors are really knowledgable and they don't push you to buy the biggest thing they have like some shops will. they usually have the best prices and if you buy from them you can call them with tech support questions during your install.

I just checked out that link and it would definately be a good match for your subs. That price is hard to beat for that kind of power too.

I have a pair of Audiobahn 15' subs rated at 600watts(Don't remember if it is RMS or not) that are being pushed by an Orion XTR Pro 2400(2400 Watts) for over a year now without a single problem, I wouldn't worry too much about overpowering your subs. Just don't let them bottom out or distort and don't turn the gains up too much. You should be fine.

EDIT: These are in my semi, not in my Scion.

Cheapest route will be on the internet.....

You'll want an amp that pushes between 1000 and 1200 watts at 1ohm RMS(either 2 channels bridged to one or a mono amp)....

Yeah, I know what it means, it's sub/amp at full power, I know that it won't be running at peak all the time. Everyone should know that, thats why they say r.m.s. that's what flows through it on average. I'm just saying if I wanted to push them I wan't an amp that will support full power.

peak power is the most power that the amp will ever put out..... almost all amps will never hit peak output..... RMS is what the amp's guaranteed to run at any given time(at a certain voltage)...

Don't even look at peak power.....I usually choose an amp that will push a little more RMS than what the sub RMS is...but will not push more than halfway between the subs RMS and Peak...... ie: a 400RMS/800 Peak sub, I'd put a 500-600 RMS amp on it...

^^true. I usually do the same but this time since I got a good deal on the amp, I went with mine that is actually 200W below my RMS for both subs. The A8002T I believe was another $100 more and I don't remember if the RMS was higher on it or not, it's just the updated version of the 8000T.

Peak power is usually rated at 14.4volts, and your stock alternator will probably never get that high. Look for an average of 13.5v to 14v.
