Default Anyway to keep the Clock on?

Is there any way to wire the Clock so it can remain on even when I take the key out.
I hate that I have to put the key in turn to the On position just to get the time

How did I know the first reply was going to be something like that.

I was expecting you to say to paste a watch where the auto clock should be

Im not sure which wire it pulls power from, but if you can get a wiring diagram, just splice it into the power for the radio.

Or if you could get one of the digital clock/compass/thermometer combo things and slap it into one of the little small dash pieces on the drivers side, maybe just to the right of the steering wheel.

Or, overhead....

You woulld have to basically reengineer the circuit board inside the cluster. Feed the separate power lead to it and isolate it from the rest of the system. Too much work, but nothing is impossible (may be).

It wouldn't be that hard at all.
All you have to do is find out what wire get power to it when to turn the key on, then tap into it and connect it to a constant power suply.

It has been brought up before more than once. I remember answering this question about a year ago when somebody wanted ODO and clock ON at all time.

Sometimes you have to weed out the people who are on here to help from the people who want to get there post up higher.

There is no separate system for the clock in the instrument cluster. The display (LCD) is powered through the Central Processing Unit (CPU) inside the custer. The actual clock "mechanism" is in it as well. So to power up the LCD and make it display the digits you need to turn on the whole CPU. All the warning lights and instrument cluster functions will be ON as well.
