Aux Port not working, but it shows as connected?
I've got the 3.0 xB with the alpine and aux hookup, but when I plug anything into it with various brands of cables, it will not work. I tried searching this but found nothing useful. I noticed that without anything plugged in I can still push the aux button and it will go into aux mode on the stereo, which I thought was only supposed to happen when a device is actually plugged in, right? But I went to the scion dealer, he said to check the power fuse, so I checked the one labeled power under the dash, and it was fine. The iPod, XM, Am, Fm, CD, mp3 features all work flawlessly if that matters.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!!!

It'll go to aux mode regardless of if something's connected.
The headunit has no way of knowing if there's something hooked into it. The 1/8" input is a dummy.
You might think about taking out the headunit and making sure everything's connected to the back still.
And, uh, I know it's stupid, but make sure you check the volume on both the headunit and the connected device. Using the aux, you still need to operate the connected device the same way you would if you had headphones connected to it.

Make sure you use a 3 contact plug on both ends or else the signal may get shorted - turn up the volume in the radio - it uses and remembers separate volume settings for the CD, radio and Aux inputs. I found that I had to turn the volume up quite a bit to get full volume out to the speakers.

You mean like make sure the cable is all the way plugged in?
And also for those of you that have one working correctly, is it correct that you cannot go into AUX mode unless a cable is actually plugged in? Or can you switch to that at any time?

You can switch anytime to Aux it is not "looking" for a signal there to switch automatically like in some video equipment. As for the plug make sure you have a three contact stereo plug. If it doesn't work them it most likely has a connection loose either under the console or back of the radio. If you have it selected and plug the wire in and don't hear any "noise" from the speakers then probably it is not wired properly to the jack.
