Default bass problems

I bought an rca out adapter. now Im having some issues with my sound system..When i connected the system it was nice and dandy..i turned the car on and it stopped working. we tried another amp and as soon as we connected the RCA ports the other amp went into safe mode. We connected a laptop with the audio out to rca on the amp it worked great. I then tried my system on my other car..that sounded excellent..i connected everything back to the scion along with a capacitor and it works but if the volume is from 1-25 in volume the subs kick a lot of bass and the bass is on beat and follows the rhythym of the song if it goes over 25 in volume it kicks less bass and does NOT sound like its on beat..at the moment i beleive it could be the harness...wut is you input on this? any input? i have an alpine mrd-m1000 mono amp and two dual voice coil rockford fosgate hx2 12 subs and the stock xb radio. Please let me know..

it could be that your amp isn't 1 ohm stable and your subs are wired down to 1 ohm? how do you have things wired?
