Default Bazooka-tC Subwoofer or Tube?

Now, before you flame me let me just say that I want my stock HU to have a little more bass. I know it sounds funny to install a Bazooka Tube in your tC, but the price is right. For another $90 I can get the Bazooka Subwoofer that is specifically designed for the tC. I would like to hear from people who have these and to let me know why they would or wouldn't recommend them.

My tC is for cruising, not showing. So I don't need a fancy subwoofer.

In my opinion... tubes are never tuned right....
I think its just the material used.
You cant really beat mdf.

The tC VSE Bazooka is worlds better than a tube. In my opinion, it's better than an Infinity Basslink too. I think it's the best solution short of a sealed MDF enclosure.

Try doing a search. This has been discussed many times.

IMO, get neither. For the price of the factory sub you could get the components to build a better sub/amp package. Granted it won't fit the back of the tC like the VSE will but if you use a truck box it won't take up that much more space. I had a Bazooka tube about 2 years ago, the thing was a total POS, couldn't really tell it was there and the driver blew not much over a year after I bought it. So I bought a 12" RF Punch sub, combined it with a Q-Logic Bandpass and $100 200W amp and it sounds MUCH better. Hits like a juiced-up baseball player. This was all total a lot less than that VSE Bazooka Scion sells.

I personally have a Bazooka BTA10200... which is the most powerful sub in a tude that bazooka makes... It sounds awesome... if anything its too much bass. I dont recomend the factory option sub because for the price its not worth it... I had my tube installed for 350 even with the adaptor to the stock HU. And since its a powered sub the amp is built in... its basically plug and play. This tube hits like 2 12's... dont get me wrong its no W7 but it definitely holds its own. Another good thing about it is that it doesnt take up to much space which is probably one of the things that drew you too the factory option. Of course there are better and badder subs out there but it takes alot of know how, money, and hook ups... to get something worth while... and for regular people the Tube is definitely the way to go.. in my opinion.

If I could get the sub for 90$, I wouldn't have posted this thread! What I meant was for $90 more than the Tube I could get the tC sub. Sorry about the confusion. I just cant' decide which one and how to install. (myself or pro. installation.) I'm not car-savy, so I'm afraid to take apart my car to do the install. I have read about the install on the VSE Sub and it doesn't look that hard. (Just time consuming.) Thanks for the info so far. It's definitley helping me! Also, If you have the Tube--where did you install it in your car? Pix, if possible, would help me out. Thanks

Its not the best picture and its before I mounted it and my car is dirty... but I mounted it on that side because I still wanted the bigger portion of the backseat to recline.

As you can see I still have a trunk.

When people say you can get something a lot better for the price, better in what way? Louder, more powerful, deeper bass? Personally, I only care about having a nice quick punch, I don't want any prolonged earthquakes in my trunk.

The Tube I was looking at is $160 @ Circuit City. (Reg. $240) I'm trying to budget around $300. I just want to add a little bass. I'm in my car about 30 mins. total a day. So, I don't need a sophisticated set up. I have that in my house.

Insaneintention-Do you really have a 1000w amp? If so-you da man!

Yea, but i hate it. It over heats too easily and forces itself into protection mode. The amp I'm using is about 200W and it's far more than enough.

Wattage isn't everything you know... its all about sound quality and Price... The BTA10200 you can find on ebay for like 180 bucks and if your savy enough you can put it in for free. I have had my Tube for a while now with no problems at all. The tube is an easy no hassle kind of bass adder... its a space saver and the warranty cover the entire box not just the amp or the sub... I'd say its a deal but ...
