Best Place to Install Amp -Poll
Howdy Gang - I just purchased a Polk c500.1 and was debating where to install it. I am kinda leaning towards under the seat. Has anyone else install their amp there and do you have any pictures of the install? Kinda wanted to do it myself, but I am not too sure about screwing the amp down to the chasis. Any thoughts would be great.

I think I will put mine in the back...I was thinking of putting it on the hidden compartment but I am afraid it might overheat ( I KNow I know! People have done it but im just waiting to see what happens)
I might end up putting is next to my box...still debating... :? :? :?:

You'd have to drill holes, but mount it to the back of your rear seat, or I've seen it mounted to your sub box... well if you've got subs. Neither will take up much room, but if you mount it to your sub box, the only want to take out the box is to disconnect the amp. :?

I'm gonna velcro my amp under the front driver's seat. . . I just hope it's not going to impede on leg room for the rear seat passenger, since most people tuck their feet under the front seats. . . that or it can get damaged by an inconsiderate drunk *****. . . I'm DD often hahahaha. Maybe I didn't drink at all, but that doesn't mean I'm not sober!!!! Hmm gettin the munchies

I put mine in teh back in the empty storage compartment. I was worried about overheating to but what I did was I recreated the top of the compartment. I took a piece of smoked plexi glass. Drilled holes in it for air vents. I then put some Orange Hyper LED's in it so that it kind of has a sutle Orange glow.

I have a Sony 800W amp (The hexagon shaped one) & it fits under the spare tire. If you cut a little bit of styrofoam, the amp fits perfectly & doesn't take up any room at all. It seems to work perfectly with a hexagon (or pentagon or whatever) amp like the sonys, but should work with any amp that isn't too big.

The best place to mount an amp will be in one of our amp racks that will replace the driver's side cargo panel! The racks are actually not available yet but will be soon and go with our enclosures.
But in the meantime, a great place to mount amps is under the passenger's front seat. I actually have an alpine processor, 1 PG 4 channel amp and 1 PG 2 channel amp mounted under the seat and it all fits great! About 7" tall.
Keep Jammin,
