Best push pin switch?

I was gonna do that too. I was just gonna use a hood pin trigger for an alarm system.

Why not make it look OE and get a waterproof door switch from a wrecked Scion/Toyota. Its a ground side switch that could be put under the hood, connected to the ground side of the light.

I plan on this being a mod in the future, but I prefer using a Mercury switch (removed from an old style house thermostat). It just sits there, and makes/breaks the contacts at one end of the switch. Lasts forever, and it is easily adjusted to automatically "close" in any portion of the hood opening process. Just be careful, and do not break the glass bulb containing the Mercury. It can be completely enclosed in liquid rubber, once you get it set. Lasts forever, as long as the bulb is not broken. Mercury is very hazardous to most animals! Protect bulb from breakage. Remember, if it is adjusted to close when the hood is open very little, the light may come on, when just going up a hill.
