Default Blew my Factory Bazooka Tube

Hey guys over the weekend my tube started clicking and making these weird noises in swahili. Every time the beat is supposed to hit the tube just makes an anoyying click! I talked to my friend and he told me he thought i blew out the cone. Is this typical of a sub to do this if it's busted?

I think Scion will have to give me a new one cause it's under warranty with everything else in the car. Is this true? Does the warranty apply to my bazooka, cause it would suck if it didn't and I payed 400 bucks for a crappy blown out subwoofer.

Thanks guys

it should apply.....don't know if that would be considered wear & tear though.....in that case...they may not....get a real sub....you'll be happier...

Wow, that thing is $400!

You could seriously shatter some windows with $400 worth of aftermarket subs!

I sure hope they replace it for you. I'm not sure how it works, though. The TRD stuff gets a seperate warranty, but this isn't TRD. It's a Scion accessory, so I guess it would be the same if your factory upgrade 6-disc stereo broke, the dealer would just have to install another one. Good luck! Let us know what happens.

I had an 8" Bazooka a couple of years ago and those things don't hold bass worth a damn. Their tube design is nice but the drivers they put in them are seriously weak. So I replaced my Bazooka with a 12" RF Punch XL in a QLogic Bandpass enclosure for less than what I paid for my Bazooka and its hits like a juiced-up baseball player. Forget Bazooka, get real speakers.

Get a real sub! the cool thing is that you now have an awesome enclosure to plase a brand new alpine type R in. The Bazooka sucks. I think most people are really paying for that awesome enclosure that saves space. They would clean up if scion sold that thing without a cone. If you plan on getting rid of the enclosure let me know and I'll buy it from you.

well....looks like the tribe has spoken...hehe....I'd say, if you're happy with the output of the bazooka, try to get it replaced.....otherwise, step up to a cheaper alternative in a single 10 or something....

I dunno. Kicker L7's will rattle your fillings loose, but I've heard that they don't last as long as conventional round subs. Something about the square shape doesn't hold up to the stress as well as a round shape.

On another note on surround designs...MB Quart(I think) has some subs with an inverted surround. Kinda weird looking, but has anyone ever heard these subs perform?

it's really impossible to call one sub the best......it's all in personal preference.....Kicker subs do get very loud if installed right.....but they sound like smashed _______......don't know how they hold up for reliability....

but the sub blowing isn't the factory's fault....it's the owner's fault whom turned it up too much.....only way to know for sure is to go ask the dealer....

what about using the enclosure with a different sub of slightly better quality if they don't cover it, I mean any decent sub should sound as good if not better and last longer in there. Or is it like riveted to the tube so that you can't ever take it out?

good question dmxsoul.....personally I think the tubes are ugly and cheap lookin....would be a good experiment though....as long as the enclosure specs match the sub specs....

I was planning on getting the one for the tc, since it sits flush and what not, rip the sub out, put a decent one in there that atleast has quality build to it, and rock that, it sounds good either way, but won't hold up, figured a decent sub to replace it would work out for my needs

Is the sub removable on the Bazooka? Or do you have to mod the tube to make a new speaker fit? If the sub simply pulls out, just buy a better sub and replace it. But you're still probably better off upgrading to a larger sub, considering you blew this one out.
