Boston Acoustics or JL subs?

Boston Acoustics or JL subs?
I am trying to make a decision but haven't ever heard the Boston's. I'm looking at 2 G510 or G512's (10" or 12") OR two 12W7's, either setup powered by a JL 1000/1.
If it matters, my mid/highs are going to be infinity perfect crossovers in the front powered by a JL 450/4.
So anyone ever heard these bostons? I am sure they have superior SQ but do they still get loud? The low sealed enclosure specs are nice (.5 ft) for the 10 inchers..

W7 all the way, but if you want to save some money get two ID Max V3's and buy a better amp, meaning non class D, like a used Zapco 6.0
Note: I have yet to listen to the Boston subs but have owned pair of W7s and the ID Max.

OK someone here's an idiot!
JL's slash amps are NOT class D
there full range mono-blocks!!!
Geez... and to think you suggest a Zapco over JL's,
you really are clueless....... I won't even go further on this issue with you.

W7 man...ALL THE DAMN WAY. With the JL 1000/1 powering your 2 W7's, youll get the cleanest and not to mention the hardest hitting bass. Goodluck on your ears though, with that kind of bass hitting in your car your eardrum will explode. IMO, i'd just got for one 12" W7 in your car; 2 is over the top and basically used for competition purposes. If you're just a daily driver and not into that competing stuff, i'd rather go w/ 1 dub7.

I've had 2 12" 2 ohm Boston Pros before, and I don't think you'd be disappointed with the new & improved G series line. I beat the daylight out of my Pro Series, and they took every bit of it. If the box is built right, for the money, you'd have all the performance of the JL's at a cheaper price!

Hmm.. 2 12W7's is overkill? I don't want to cause permanent ear damage, but I want to show off occasionally when little civics roll up at the stoplight beating on their Rockfords.. lol.
Is a 1000/1 too much for a single W7 or just right?
I like loud music don't get me wrong, but I don't like it being utterly unbalanced... Thoughts?

http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/10001.html says 1.5-4ohm at the rated power, I guess I need to learn some more about bridging because you lost me ;)

I'm no pro, just going by what I remember.
If I remember correctly, 2 4ohm subs bridged together can create a 1 ohm load. But I may be thinking incorrectly....I haven't had my subs for 4 years and don't spend nearly as much time keeping up in the car audio world as I used to. I'd talk to a reputable local shop on how bridging 4 ohms subs works, just to be sure.
Just thought I'd give my opinion on your sub question.....sorry if I created some confusion.....

Ok, a little science to the speculation.
One JL sub should be fine if its in a good box. For each speaker you add (assuming
the same power) you only gain 3db. Hardly noticeable when you are already hitting
nearly 100db.
Two 4 Ohm subs in parallel will give you 2 Ohms. They share the load.
But if they are dual voice coil, you can go parallel/parallel for a 1Ohm load,
or series parallel for a 4 Ohm load.
But again, I think one sub is plenty WITH a good box and a good amp pushing it.
I think one speaker would be idea if it's a dual coil (which I think the JL are).
So if it's a dual coil sub, and each coil is 4 Ohms, they share the load and the amp
sees 2 Ohms (In parralel wiring). 2 Ohms is ideal for a good amp that can handle
low impedance.

Seriously?
Back the F off, If I was wrong fine, but don't call me an idiot. What is your experience with this amp? I've owned it and used them on W7's which the original thread starter was asking about. I simply mentioned a BETTER amp IMHO.
BTW: http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/curcuit.html
Have you used the Zapco C2K, JL 1000/1, or Boston subs? If not get off the thread.
I apologize tekiniq for doing this on your thread, just some people think they know it all irk me.

The reason why I rec'd the Zapco 6.0 is that it does around 1200 watts @ 2 ohms mono. Now wire up 2 W7s and you'll get 1.5 ohm and that boosts the power output of the Zapco to aover 1600 watts realistically. And *poof* you get the optimum power.
Also I called up Zapco before I did this and they say the amp should run fine, and it never got hot in ym trunk.

Well, after seeing how large it really is in the trunk I think that I can only do 1 W7 and be comfortable in the hatch.
You're probably right but the JL website is down so I can't check to be certain. It seems that 1 sub is sufficient from everything I have read so far in this thread.
