Default box on battery terminal

Hey guys,
I'm replacing the stock grounds and alt wire etc, so I got new neg and pos battery terminals with three 4ga outputs. I see the black splits into 2, one to the motor I think and the other to the frame in front. stupid welded nut..
But with the pos, it has a stupid red box on it, wtf is this? it has a few wires running out of it, and with it on there I can't put my battery terminal on...
any ideas/help would rock!

Those are called fusible links...sorta like biga$$ fuses!
Those things protect IMPORTANT electrical systems in your Box if a catastrophic electrical failure should occur!

Ah right on, I didn't even wanna mess with trying to open it in fear of breaking it lol. Ok so how to go about keeping that on there with an aftermarket battery terminal..
any ideas?

Thanks John, but I actually have searched this and even got help with it on here previously. And I have yet to read anything where it addresses what to do with that box etc...
so if you or anyone would know where that thread is that would be awesome!
Of course all help is much appreciated and I thank you all!

If you are talking about the red box directly on top of the positive side of the battery, its just a cover for the positive terminal.

Well not the cover, but the whole box itself. I guess they are inline fuses and I've tried to open that box to see inside but it's not wanting to open and I don't want to break it. Thing is that is attached to the + terminal so if I were to remove that and put a battery terminal with lets just say four 4ga outputs, there's no way for me to put this box back on. it's a solid flat metal piece that bolts it on to the factory battery terminal...

I was hoping to still hear something too... I already did the - wires, but until I can figure that box out, I'm not doing the + upgrade.
I was almost thinking about taking aprox 2-3 inches of 1/0 ga with a ring terminal on each side. And just bolting one side to the metal piece on the box, and the other to the aftermarket battery terminal. so the wire would be a little extension away from the battery. So that way you can actually put a different battery terminal on there, but with just one extra output for that 1/0 wire, and however many more you need for amp, and alt + wire upgrade.
So really you could have all hooked up to the same battery terminal; the box, amp wire, and the alt wire. nice.

any more ideas? I mean someone has HAD to have dealt with this...

I would like to see detailed, high-resolution pictures. I'm not sure on the negative terminal either - I think it would involve a bunch of ring terminals. Currently, I have the stock terminal, and I took out the set screw and put 2 ring terminals for ground wires in, then put the screw back in.

Well on the negative one I just put a battery terminal on with two 4ga outputs, one goes to the motor other one to the chassis in front.

I could just cram a bunch of ring terminals on the positive but I think that would look bad.
I think since I've had no luck here I'll just do my 1/0ga extension for the red box.

Check with STNC. He's installed KnuKonceptz KonFused Battery Terminals on his tC.
