Default Car alarm interconnect harnesses??

I am going to install a car alarm on my box before I even do anything to it! I already know what alrm I want to put in, I am going to install a Crimeguard 533i4. I love the Crimeguard systems. I usually buy from Crutchfield but they don't have any interconnect harnesses for the xB.

For those who may not know, an interconnect harness is esseentially plug and play for alarm installation. It plugs in between existing factory wiring harnesses.

Does anyone know where I can find interconnect harnesses for the xB so that I can do the install myself? Or if someone could possibly tell me where specific wiring points would be that would be great too.

a long while ago Metra Electronics made harnesses that would go between the ignition harness and give you 12v, ignition, accessory, and starter. Circuit City carried them for a short while. it was more work to unhook the factory harness, plug in the adapter harness, then connect wires to the alarm.

I don't know anyone that still has that kind of harness for sale. you would be better off cutting/splicing the wires you need.

That's exactly the type of harness I am looking for! If no one knows where I can find one then letting me know what wires I need to use would be acceptable. But here's an idea I just thought of........does the xB share the same wiring of any other Toyota vehicle? Maybe the Echo? If so then please let me know because then I can order the interconnect harness for that vehicle to install the alarm.

I did a post on all the wir elocations with pics for the xb in the FAQ section.

I t hink the only wire harness available is the toyota alarm that they offer but it would be a waste to buy that and not use it.

Thank you for responding so quickly Mr. SmartAss (not sure how to say your name without it sounding like an insult) But as you posted in your tech section I don't feel comfortable with cutting; I would rather plug in. Anyone have any ideas or responses to the xB sharing wiring with another Toyota vehicle? Or does anyone know where I can find interconnect harnesses?

By the way SmartAss may be on to another idea. Would anyone know how I could get my hands on the Scion Security harnesses without purchasing the whole unit? Then I could probably customize that harness to meet my needs.

Anyone out there??? Did I stump y'all? I know we have some expert installers out there! Please help! I would not like to spend as much on installation as I would on the alarm.

Just use the t-taps on the smaller wires on the alarm if ur not comfortable and for the ignition wires just splice into them and solder... Its gonna be hard to find what your lookin for
