Default CB Radio

I work for a local driveway sealing chain in MD. I deliver the estimates and get supplys, (for this i use the xb). All of our work trucks in the fleet are equipped with CB radios so we can comminicate while at work and on the way to get supplys or lunch. I purchased a CB radio that is small enough to fit in front of the cup holders and in front of the dash. I have a manual xb and i removed the center consol and found two unused wires with connecters one is blue the other is white. Is there any way to draw a 12 v source from these wires that turn on with the ignition like the radio. Also where should i run the antenna wires? i was thinking of running it with my amp wire along the side panels.

Last but not least is the question if the CB radio will mess with the engine I remember a rumor about the CB interfering with Engine controllers or something?? is there a danger in doing this towards the car.

THanks

First let me take a shot at your work .. for not using nextel .. or sprint or something. How do you plan on getting extended ranges out of a CB ? From my experience standard CB radios only have a 5 mile or so range until you start going to the amplifiers and large antenna.

But to answer you question, I have never had a CB interfere with any of the electronics in any of my other cars. Then again, the last time I used a CB my car had a cassette player in it.

Well at least you get the chance to use a cool handle .. GL
