I have posted this before but no one has decribed how to do it. I understand all you need to do is get a postive to the CIG fuse box and bam done. BUT can't i just jumper a postive from something in that fuse box to the CIG fuse?????

I have searched the fust box to find a constant + but nothing. please help.

where is the 12-v constant, sorry had a alarm/remote start installed, a lot of wires. I just figured that the fust box under the dash was just an ACC so it had no power until the key was in, but i guess it could have a constant 12 volt,

If you arent sure, the best way to proceed is to buy a cheap tester @ radio shack, the kind that you can clip to a ground (frame) and poke into wires to see if they are hot. Someone here probably knows the exact place and color of the wire though, so you may want to wait.

just find a wire that has constant power to it such as possibly the radio constant 12 v wire. Run a new wire from that to the positive of the cig lighter (make sure u take off the old positive wire). Also make sure to put a fuse inline (15amp)

****(Disconnect the negative wire of your battery b4 attempting)*******
Why go crazy make it yourself goto discount or autozone buy a blade waterproof fuse holder put a 15 or 20 amp fuse buy a cheappy charlie terminal / crimper kit and some 16 Gauge red wire dont connect it yet though tie the wire with some excess close to your battery then take a coat hanger straighten it out bend a little loop in the end of the hanger then look on your firewall to the far right down a little you will see a rubber gromment (Looks like a plug but it has a bunch of wires running thru it to the inside of your car take a phillips screw driver poke a hole within the rubber but not hitting metal then run the hanger thru go in the car find the end of the hanger attach some string or fishing line to the hanger pull it back thru go to the wire end under the hood tie the string to the wire then pull it back thru then snake the wire behind ur dash making sure it does not interfere with your pedals or will not fall down with time (wire tie or electrical tape it to other wires) get it over to your cig lighter the positive terminal is the center one on the lighter unit itself cut the wire and splice on the new wire leading to the cig lighter (do not just electrical tape it will last long with a connector) now go up front and connect it to your battery make sure you leave some slack in the wire incase you have re route the wire later. check everything once your sure everything is straight reconnect your battery you now have a hot lead cig lighter on all the time.

Definitely pay attention to what you connect to. The "grab a constant hot and connect to it" method is not the best idea in the world. If you grab a hot that is fused to handle less power than the lighter and whatever else it supplies, you will be blowing fuses all the time. Use a tester and a the wiring info posted above (good post by the way) to find the right place.
