Cup holder illumination Tip...

So which part of the LED goes to the ground, and to the power? And has anyone tried cathodes yet? I want to place a cathode by both driver and passenger feet because it's dark in there.

Thanks for the info guys. very much appreciated. One problem though. How can i connect them now without splicing? I don't want to void any electrical warranties I have, and I couldnt pull out the stuff plugged into it(I have an auto). Any Suggestions? Or should I power my puddle lights, cathodes, vent LED's with batteries?

Just wanted to say thanks to the OP and for everybody that posted pics. I bought a set of three blue leds from Vato Zone and installed them in the xB last night. Man, it was seriously easy! Center console came out in 30 seconds, another minute to drill the holes, another 2 to feed the wires through, and another minute to put it all back together. I mounted them facing the front of the car about a 1/4" above the bottom. I want to grind the tips flat a bit to try and diffuse the light a bit more, but I'm very happy with the results.
I'm going to try and find a factory switch to hook them up to. Anybody know if the wiring is already there for the switch as well?

you should be able to just tie into the positive/negative wires by the shift lights (if you have an auto). I've helped 2 friends so far with different cars (accord, and an ion) and we just tied into the wires running to their shift lights, real easy ^_^

If the tC comes with an option for the illumination kit, then I gaurantee it will have that plug. It might not be in the same exact place, but as Rebelman said, you can always just tap into the wires going to the shifter illumination. Just pull off your center console and have a peek.

Like I said...I'm sure it's in ten same location. It will be the only unused blue harness plug. I have a 5 speed and it was right there staring at me when I pulled the console off.

Like a dummy, my xB I bought already had the dealer installed cathodes that are on a switch. My question is this: If I installed the cup holder LED's could I just tap into the dealer installed switch for my cathode lighting? Any help would be appreciated. This is a great thread.............

boredom+car mods+spending money=don't mix well, well yeah they do...
when i was lookin underneath the center console there like trace outlines of where three switches can go...
i'm just wonderin whats those trace outlines are for??? yeah some thing like that

TIP:
I put a small slice of masking tape over each LED after the install into the rear of the cupholder.
I find that it diffuses the light nicely and fills each cupholder with more "glow" rather than "light" if you get what I am saying.
