I've been playing with some designs for a new face for my speedometer. I'm still playing but there's always something missing. I'm just posting to get opinions and ideas. Maybe someone who's more artistic can tell me what I'm missing to make it pop.

 

I'm sorry about the size. It's not that big on my site. Does someone know how I can display it smaller without having to alter the original pic?

It'd be easier just to make a copy, resize it, and repost it. Unless you can use the html tags to resize it. That pic is a little too big.

 

wow...its certaily...big...and showy...when u said custom u meant it...how you gonna fit that?

 

I had to shrink and upload another copy. I think it came out so big because when I scanned the original face to use as a template I did it at 600 dpi so I'd have every detail. The original actually prints the perfect size.

 

I like the idea, but I'd change the font and use red or orange hatch marks.

 

I finally installed the face today.

Just after putting everything back together.

In the car. The flash really made it stand out.

Thanks for the compliments! This was my first one so there are a few bugs to work out for night use as you can see in the picture.

Thanks! It took a few hours. Most of that was trying different colors and making sure all the markings lined up with the original.

 

you should make custom ones... earn a few $$$ or sell your idea to Randode... i would buy one! im not sure i like the current design yet i would buy a different one

 

I want to do one excactly like the stock piece but with pale green instead of the orange.

 

The design is not exactly my style, but props on the execution.

 

Hmm, if I was going to do this I'd make sure to use a very high quality printer (laser?) and heavy paper or plastic in order to make it as close to the stock materials as possible..
