Custom Speedo Face XB/XA
#22
Thanks!
I'm going back to the drawing board. The speed hand being black blended in more than I'd hoped. Also you can see the LEDs wash out the color at night particularly at their locations.
I used a Canon i560s inkjet printer on a transparency for this. I also did a test print on photo paper and it looks awesome but I was skeptical about light transmission. I think I will try the next generation on photo paper and also the transparency but I'll paint the other side to see if that will provide more controlled lighting.
Once I get a good, durable combination I might consider selling them.
If someone knows of a white plastic that can be printed on with an inkjet printer, please share.
I've been playing a little more just for ideas.
This one has my newest graphic. It was spawned from another thread about the low fuel light. I call this a walk warning indicator instead of the low fuel indicator.

Sure you can, but you may want to wait until I get a better handle on the production technique. I'm going to be trying a few different methods soon. Once I'm happy with the results, I'll put them on the market.

Dude...that is tight. This is what we are all about! Being different and creative. You can really think inside the box!
If I were you I would do a few things while you are getting the production down.
1. Register a web site domain name.
2. Copywrite your work.
3. Make a step by step manuel with pics on how to take the speedo apart and install new background.
4. Make some BANK!
I would be more than happy to send you artwork for what I want for my speedo. All look GREAT!

Latest update to the red/black/white speedo. This one's in my car now. I'm still having a problem with the LEDs washing the color at night. I realize it's going to happen some but I'm being picky and I really don't like it where the LED are. I don't have any installed pics yet. I'll get some tomorrow.

I am definitily feeling a number Rs1 face exclusive to each car!
My buddy (mostly) and I made my RS1's guages a little unique. I need to do some more work to them but check them out so far in my profile.... as well as my other little mods.
