Is there much of a difference in quality of the lcd screen between a dual and a pioneer or kenwood monitor? Are you pretty much paying for the name or is there a noticeable difference?

Me personally I pay a little extra for the piece of mind. If I am going to be spending 400+ on a HU I want something with a decent name.. learned my lesson back in the day with some 'Urban Audioworks' !!! anyone remember them?

There is a very big difference the quality of the make for a good head Unit. The saying goes " You get what you paid For" and its true for the most part when picking out a decent head unit. There are alot of great companys out there with awesome products, some very notable ones would be Alpine, Eclipse, the Pioneer Premier line, the Kenwood excelon line, and Clarion just to name a few. Though i am not famalier with all the companys i must say that Alpine, Eclipse and Pioneer offer some very high quality Indash screens along with top notch headunits at attractive prices. From experience its always best to do some research and shopping,... i recommend to go check out stores that deal with audio installations and check out there show floors that display there products, that way you can get a hands on interaction with the unit you want before you make a decision on purchasing. It doesnt hurt to ask questions, just gotta make sure you ask the right ones, and always get more then one opinion when dealing with an indash screen, dont settle for something your not gonna use, settle for something youll get the most use out of and the one you will be satisfied with.

why not take a look at both of the screens and decide for yourself. car audio is one of those products that you get what you pay for.

I sell all three and the only way Id sell a Dual is if they got the service plan and wanted to upgrade to something better later. Those dam things fail in 2-5 months all the time, but nobody listens to me when I warn them not to buy them!

These are extremely nice units. Not something to watch while driving or play games on. But good for a bling factor. Besides why else do people put millions of TVs in their cars?
