DIY right cargo cubby sub enclosure?
has anybody made there own sub enclosure that fits in the "hidden" cargo area next to the spare tire?
if you have pics that would be awesome
if you have build plans that would be amazing

As I've posted before, I'm looking for plans for the same thing. I want to keep it hidden for security reasons, and to keep all my cargo room. I still need to figure out where to put 3 amps though... Maybe a false floor for all of it?

Why not the Scosche 10" and enclosure?
If you're looking for a hidden cargo area sub, you're not going for monster bass. The Scosche is a reasonable amount of bass-helps round out the bottom of the stock system. It looks nice, makes good use of the available area and allows the use of the stock hard cover.
After all is said and done, I wonder if that might be the most cost effective vs time/$$/sub to make your own?

yah i was lookin into the scosche enclosure but i would rather not have an enclosure made out of plastic and a no name woofer...
i dunno maybe if i heard one my opinion might change

I had one, the plastic is really solid. HDPE like a 5 gallon bucket, but really thick.
The woof was OK, fair sized magnet and sound, but I agree, a little time, money and space sacrificed would net you lots better sound for the $$.
Have you looked at the foam thingie? It will give you rough outside dims real EZ. And look at Elemental Design's SQ10 shallow subs (information stages) or 11Kv2? Might be a great combo.

ya im definately goin with an 11kv2
the foam thing is pretty strangely shaped on the bottom and the side against the right wall so it might be a little harder than i expected...
anybody good with fiberglass?

photobucket is free, no ads, no emails, no hassels.
used for 3yrs, never had any issues.

Blacklisted, since you live in Glendale you should check out this shop in Tucson called SoundFX. They make boxes just for the cargo area in the xB that are OK and cheap. The owner of that place has a wicked setup in his box that includes 29 (so I am told) lcd monitors.
