Default Eclipse 5435 Ipod Capability..

My friend has an eclipse 5435 and I am getting ready to purchase one. He has a ps2 hooked up, and a rear camera. How is a way he could possibly get an integrated ipod solution into this head unit? If he cant get an integrated head unit, are there any other inputs he could use? If there are inputs, what cable would he need. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if there's an adapter that can switch between two RCA inputs and have one RCA output and you can use that between an iPod and PS2.

You should be able to find a mobile video switch from anywhere that should be able to do what you need.

Some examples...

Does your friend have the AVN5435 hooked up to an amp yet? I was REALLY disappointed in the supposed 5V outputs they have. I had to use a higher gain than I was supposed to have to use. Otherwise the deck would start clipping.

I switched to a Kenwood DDX8017 and have not been disappointed. Also the sirius tuner sounds better on it. Plus it has 2 inputs instead of one ;) I mainly got it to do surround sound in my car. Those are just extra benefits. That and the picture on the screen is a lot clearer...

Oh and I can burn a DVD of MP3s/WMAs/JPEGS/etc :D

I have an AVN 5435 w/ XM Commander (aftermarket) and Aux/Ipod hooked up to the aux (VTR) jack of my eclipse.

Yes you can buy a source switcher, but I didn't want to spend that much money, so I just bought 2 RCA "Y" adapters (so you have 2 inputs coming into the right jack, and 2 coming into the left jack). The only thing about this with my setup is that I have to set my XM onto channel 0 so that you don't get signal interference when trying to play the Ipod. You could just turn off the PS2 when playing hte Ipod and vice versa--I only did it this way b/c the XM commander has a weird anamoly of interfering with the GPS' satellite fix when it's turned off.

Is this clear at all? Hope it helps--it definitely cheaper than buying a source switcher...
