EL Wire is so 90's... or not.
A few cars back I had a '68 VW beetle. Any of you out there who owned one know that it's a great car for learning-by-fixing That included many unscheduled roadside stops, roughly 705 of which were at night. After a few close calls, I finally but a reflector on the corner of the door panels, so oncoming traffic would at least be aware of (if not careful of) my open door.
Since then, I've been a firm believer that this, or something like it, should be STANDARD on every car.... you never know when something is going to happen. So, after a particularly exceptional round of procrastination, I've finally found a solution that I think is appropriate for this car.
With the lights on:
With the lights out:
It's not a perfect solution - I'd prefer to outline the whole door, but this was the best solution I could find that balanced cleanliness of installation with effectiveness.
Questions/Comments?

jwaj: It's getting harder to find, but any streetglow dealer should have their brand available. Or do what I did, find someone selling direct from Hong Kong on eBay (make sure you get enough extra to cover a 1-in-5 DOA ;) ).
