My yellow maintenenance light came on at 32,625 miles, so I was wondering if that light comes on at that time for everybody too?

Or does the light come on exactly 3,000 miles since the last person that gave you an oil change reset the light?

And is there a way to figure out if the light came on because of the oil change (if thats what it is), or if it came on for a different reason?

 

when reset using default methods, it starts to blink (during startup) 4500 miles since it was last reset and then stays on after 5000.

it's nothing more than a mileage counter and will not turn on for any other reason.

 

It also depends on how many miles it was set to go for, because it can be set to go off every 1000-5000 miles. But it does not signify anything other than you have traveled a specified amount of miles.

 

Yea, it's just a counter. Depending upon who you went to last for an oil change it's anywhere from 3000 to 5000 miles.

 

How do you reset it?
