excellent pics. nice work... definately looking good so far. just dont get discouraged, because more then likely.. you will be after you lay the glass down on something so large. just remember the glass is there as a structural composite support. not for looks. any shaping you need to do is left up to the body filler. but since you wont even be seeing your mold because it will be the back of your enclosure.. you shouldnt really have to worry. looks good tho homie.

Do you what kind of cloth I should stretch over the mold after I build my speaker rings and mount them where I want to? I looking for something thin and stretchy and won't wrinkle when fiberglass is applied.

if you cant find any... use anything polyester. fabric stores (joanne's, michael's, etc.) usually have sales on fleece for like 3.99 a yard. you shouldnt need more then 1 yard on what youre doing. also, lighter colored cloth helps because you easily see the saturation of resin in the fleece.

o yea... when you mount your rings and attach the dowels to the fiberglass, im not sure what youre planning on using, but high temp hot glue works wonders. and to make time pass faster, instead of waiting for the glue to dry, grab a can of that air duster stuff, turn it upside down, and spray it over the glue. biggest tip id have to give for fleecing and mounting rings is to make sure your dowels wont collapse while your stretching the fleece OR while the resin is curing on the fleece. when youre stretching your fleece, you should be able to pull the fleece as tight as possible and not have your dowels collapse...

ill have to check out both the grill cloth and the fleece... ive heard of fleece being used... but when i think of fleece, i think of the fleeces people wear in the winter... i assume its the same thing but i could and most probably am wrong! but thanx for the suggestions...

The only thing is, i won't be making the enclosure until much farther down the road, because due to financial situation, i can't afford to buy a sub(s) and the wood working tools. but ill keep everyone posted by continuing this thread or create a new thread when i start fabricating the enclosure.
