Default Fuel Gauge: 1/1-R ?!

Is this new, or so common that it's never mentioned at all anymore? A search of the forums showed no mention of this little oddity. Every other car I've ever owned or driven in used E and F to denote Empty or Full on the fuel guage.

Maybe I should be glad they're not in Sanscrit:

It's new on the 06s. R stands for refill, 1/1 means full. I know, it's stupid, F and E are much better.

Well mathematically, 1/1=1=100%, so it technically makes sense. A lot more sense than the committee that decided on when the light behind the translucent orange storage hatch comes on, or decided that you must either use a key or return to the front door to lock the hatchback.

If you don't like it, replace it.

just white out the numbers and replace them with with stupid stuff like 1/32 (empty) or 47/49 (full) just add bunch of redundant fractions inbetween, get your point accross. "do you need gas? " - "heck i dono"
