Default Tc Install

I have a 2005 Indigo Ink Pearl and I changed my gauges to blue and soon will be doing my center console ( clock LCD, Buttons ) but I can do all if you like. I will be installing super white in my buddies car and will have him get some pics at the next scinergyIE meet.

Yea, I'm interested if he did blue in center console yet. I've yet to see one not result in dim LED's

That's why I was asking nyomouth. I've already done them to my car but like ScionDad said, there hasn't been a single console install in blue that hasn't looked dim.

Well, ther gauges look sweet blue. Bright and deep blue. White center might work, but from a technical standpoint, a white LED is simply a blue LED with phospherous coating to filter out the blue spectrum. But, then again, I'm not 100% sure about that now a day's.

I've seen pics of a white conversion (Motozen) and the center console looks fine. Guess it's the combo of the low voltage and blue light, it just doesn't show well. I'm working with a couple people to get the electrical schematics of the console so that I can increase the voltage.

This just got loaded

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21055

It is a zipped file of the TC repair manual - 14m in size. I'm down loading now. Quick view, it has electrical in detail. I pray a schematic of the HVAC panel for the console is included

Yeah I downloaded it a while ago. There is a schematic for the combination meter (aka gauges) and it looks like the gauges supply the power for the illumination of the console. Like you mentioned about a month ago, the voltage could be increased there. I see a problem with this though, the voltage would also be increased to the other LEDs that were left stock in the console (and actually are bright), that might cause the stock LED's to fry

They are PLCC2 size surface mounted LED's. The stock stereo uses 0608 size surface mount LED's.

0608 , wow very small. Yea guys, this is a good deal considering the amount of work invovled. Those things are a _____ so solder.

The 0608's are only in the stock radio. The PLCC2's are actually pretty easy.

I've never heard of PLCC2's. Got dimensions?
