Default Getting Ready To Buy Alarm

I am getting ready to shop around for alarms for my 05 TC.

Which is better? Clifford RSX 3.5 or the Viper 791XV?

People who got theirs done already which remote start by-pass did you use? 555X or 555U?

Also can someone send me all the wiring diagram for 2005 tC? ranmap@hotmail.com

Thanks

I have Viper VX791, I think its better than Clifford overall! They do almost the same functions, not much different that you'd actually care for normal user! Viper remote looks better than clifford's. I just wish they made it in black color rather than blue!

since viper (Directed Electronics Inc.) owns Clifford and Clifford is pretty much a rebadged viper alarm with minor exceptions, go with what gives you the features you like. I was a big Clifford supporter before the the buy out. they had alot of neat features. many of the installers I worked with didn't like Clifford, mainly because they were so used to Viper alarms, Clifford was a little backwards.

I just had a 2-way compustar alarm/remote start installed in my 5-speed tC, and so far so good! I got a couple things I need to have looked at (my turbo timer isnt set up yet, only my drivers door unlocks with the 2-way remote, and my factory keyless is still working - not a big deal), but they are just basic programming adjustments. I really like it and it has a ton of features and the ability to add windows, moonroof, anything to it! It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I dont have a lot of options in my town, and Computstar is the only one that has a manual tranny option. The installer took two days to install and said it was the hardest car hes ever done... I also had him hook up the factory horn to the siren, so when the alarm goes off it is pretty damn loud! Ive heard the Viper is good too, but they arent safe with a 5-speed Even if they were, I would still prob pick the Compustar...

i believe the only advantage that compustar has over viper and clifford is the distance to your transmitter, i think its 2-3 miles over the vipers 1/4 mile.

you can also add the window, sunroof, and hatch with the viper

the hardest car hes ever done? 2 days??? I put in my viper791 in about 3 hours (do this stuff for a living). It was actually really easy. Toyota cars are some of the easiest to install on.

As for your driver door only unlocking try hitting your unlock button on the remote a few times real quick and the pass door will unlock. Its a double pulse on the PS door. The factory system will always work. Its built into the car, there isnt a seperate module just for that.
