i only wanna put one sub.maybe a 12 with an amp.will that still hit hard.or am i better off going with 2 10s?

you could go with an Alpine Type-X 10" or a JL 10w7. they both will hit harder than poop.

I had a 1 JL12W7 with a Rockford BD 1500.1 in my 97 Firebird and it was very loud and clear. Much better than what I have now in my XB which is 1 15" Kicker CVR with a KX 1200.1. The most important things is how clean the power the sub is getting and how much RMS the sub can handle and how much power the amp is putting out.

What kind of enclosure are you using? Is it tuned? The reason I ask is cause with a 13W7 and a 1000/1, I've seen guys hit in the mid 150's.

that was last time it was tested.

switched to a vented enclosure and its been tuned. in dash meter said 154 this last time. its not incredibly accurate, so give or take a few db
