If you don't use it as an ashtray you can order up a JDM no smoker's box...that's what I have in mine. You'll need the plastic handle piece from another ashtray for the front, though - the no-smoker's box kit doesn't come with one.

That's just sad, I've filled my ash tray up once with change (I'm a non-smoker) and it was maybe 10 bucks at most.

I don't really see the point in getting a different kind of tray for the same purpose unless it had it's own special handle that was colored or something so you could actually observe that it's a mod.

The felt lining in the no-smokers' box keeps the change from rattling around and making noise. I didn't put it in to impress anyone.

Well unless you are on a race track making hair pin turns or on a bumpy dirt road all the time you won't have a problem with coin rattling.

Depends on the roads you drive. My ashtray rattled like crazy until I Dynamatted it. Another advantage is the non-smoker ashtray gives you more room inside and no metal plate on the top...

Believe it or not, it's a functional upgrade, not just available because it's "JDM"...

Isn't that metal plate there to keep you from pulling the tray all the way out unintentionally?

What I think is nice about the stock tray is it has that sloped end making it easy to slide coins out.

I know one thing that's anoying - driving down a smooth road then suddenly hitting a patch of pavement that some road workers didn't smooth out very well and it turns into a mini speed bump or a mini pot hole and its enough to rattle the change and such.

No, the metal plate is to keep smoldering butts from flaming your dash. And the angle wouldn't be needed if you had that extra space and no plate to work around, IMO.

The whole reason to keep change in your car is because loose change in your pocket is anoying, it jingles when you walk making you feel like santa claus or something and likes to fall out when you want to kick your feet up, then you have all your friends trying to steal the change you were planning to buy a soda with...ok too much info, but you get the point - cash is king.

I'd email newscionparts.com and ask if it fits the xA as well. I imagine they're the same but just double check before you order.
