Default HELP - how to eliminate seat belt warning relay/noise!!!

Whats up guys. Im new to this forum i am ussually over at vwvortex.com, i am a VW fanatic. My buddy recently bought a Scion tc and this seat belt relay is driving him crazy, (the beeping sound when you dont have your seat belt on). My question is, is this a relay making that noise like it was in my passat or is it something else that i have to disconnect or take out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! BTW - I think the TC is a really nice car for the money, handles like a dream compared to the passat.

if you put yur seatbelt on itll go away.

maybe since he doesnt want to use the seatbelt he could just chop of the part that plugs in from the seatbelt and plug it in to wear it would go if he was wearing it

Found on another site....

#1 turn on ignition and make sure the odometer is the active not the trip meters.
#2 press the odometer reset button for at least ten seconds.
#3 while holding the reset button plug the safety belt in.
#4 if you did this right the display will now read b-off and if you press the reset switch again it will say b-on.
that's all you have to do and you will not de-activate your airbags or have to remove any wires.i did it today and no more headaches. "

I gotta say, that beep is really annoying. This is coming from someone who just automatically puts on his seat belt every time he gets into the car, without thinking.

Seat belt in my last car saved me...otherwise it woulda been head fighting w/ the a-pillar. I automatically put it on....and it's still annoying as hell. I can't even drive w/o my seatbelt on..but that beep...grr....it's off now ;)

does this actually work? that beep drives me insane too. i hate wearing my seat belt and even when it stops beeping that stupid red light flashes. does that stop flashing too? i would go out and try it right now but it's like 4am and it's freezing out there so i'll wait 'til day time. just can't believe it's that easy. that's just too good to be true.
