hi-lo adaptors and line out converters-easy?
i just joined and i thouroughly enjoy all the tech and insight. i do have a question. has anyone installed either the hi-lo adaptor or the line-out converter and did the radio wiring diagram in the tech section help? has anyone personally done this for the xA. i truly want to do-it-myself. any input would be greatly appreciated.

I just used a amp with hi lv inputs and spliced into my rear spkr's, ran a power wire and remote wire, POW hot lil system setup. I did this on my tC but the setup is similar. The stock system is OK all it needs is a pimp sub for some bass. Easy, cheap setup up for good beats.

I'd definitely go the route that TcLuva took: buy an amp with high level inputs.....it's like having a line level converter built right into the amp and best of all, made specifically for whatever amp it's in.....there are plenty of companies that have amps with High Level inputs......using this method instead of a LLC will give you better sound overall and will save you about $15-$20.......
all you have to do to get signal to the amp is tap(piggyback) into the rear speaker wires and run them to the inputs on the amp.....

Is there any tech articles out that show how to hook up the stock stereo system to an aftermarket amp/sub?
It sounds like all i need are some Hi/lo converters but do i need one for both sides (L/R) and both (+/-) thus i need to buy 4 converters?
also it sounds like i can hook the rest of the system up without hacking into any more of the factory's wiring... all i need to do is get my power and remote wires hooked up... is this correct?
im sorry if this has been posted b4 but it seems like all the articles are with an aftermarket hu as well...
thanks in advance

Bass is non-directional so whether you get it from the left or right is doesn't matter (unless your music is mono-only), defacto is to use the left wire.
You only need one converter, it'll handle both L/R +/- so no worries there.
Your power wire should come directly off the battery, remote can be tapped into the accessory wire on the radio.

dont use a converter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
use High level inputs......you'll have to buy an amp with high level inputs which will be speaker wires that go into the amp.....instead of wasting your money on a converter, just piggyback the speaker wires and run them to the amp.....don't even have to F with the converter........
get fused power straight from the battery.....ground to the chassis......and pull remote from an ignition source in the fuse block.......

ok i went home and found my amp....
its a old Sony Xplod (no flames pls lol)
760w 2/1 channel
XM-1502SX
it will be used along with some old xplod 600w 10' subs
but here is my question:
it has two high level inputs... L and R
So since it allows for 2x760w channels and has 2xHLI should i splice my L and R rear speakers?
or can i still get away with just splicing one rear speaker?
thanks in advance.
